The Valle delle Cartiere was home to a renowned paper tradition documented since 1381 and is still characterized by the evocative traces left by the numerous paper mills built over the centuries along the Toscolano stream.

In this fascinating setting is inserted the Paper Museum obtained in the former paper mill of Maina Inferiore, a production complex active between the fifteenth and twentieth centuries now completely recovered as an exhibition venue.

The museum itinerary narrates in chronological order the stages of the local paper production from the origins, placed in the second half of the fourteenth century, until the twentieth century. The exhibition itinerary is enriched by multimedia and interactive stations that allow you to come into direct contact with numerous and fascinating stories.
