Known as the Church of San Sebastiano, it is the first building built in Mantua to a design by Leon Battista Alberti, and it is to him, considered by many to be the founding father of Renaissance architecture, that its name is linked. Considered one of the most important Italian humanists, architects and writers of the Renaissance, Leon Battista Alberti created the modern figure of the architect, who designed works for his prestigious client. His rich and complex personality is not easy to grasp, he remains in his own way an atypical figure of his time, capable of combining research, studies and different interests.
