Reservation required Completely renovated in 2018, the Pinacoteca welcomes a precious and selected art collection in the elegant location of Palazzo Martinengo da Barco. The exhibition starts from the fourteenth century and combines the paintings with admirable objects of decorative art. Through testimonies of absolute fame such as Raphael’s Angel and the Redeemer and Lorenzo Lotto’s Adoration of the Shepherds, we arrive at the heart of the collection, consisting of Brescian Renaissance painting with Savoldo, Romanino and Moretto. Here a peculiar attention to reality is manifested, which then reaches up to the very human season of Giacomo Ceruti’s “pitocchi”. The itinerary ends with the nineteenth century of Canova and Hayez. In the rooms enriched with precious colored velvets and frescoed ceilings, you can find the works of masters such as Raphael, Lorenzo Lotto, Vincenzo Foppa, Savoldo, Romanino, Moretto, Giacomo Ceruti, Andrea Appiani, Antonio Canova, Berthel Thorvaldsen and Francesco Hayez, but also amazing sculptures, refined Venetian glass and curious wardrobes populated by pygmies.
